TuxCASE for Raspberry Pi was developed with open source software from the conceptual 3d model to the packaging label. The case is designed to fit both the older non-mounting hole version Model B boards as well as the newer version with the mounting holes. An set of mounting screws and nylon spacers are also include for securing the boards instead of resting it on the acrylic floor.
The enclosure body is machined from domestic 6061-T6511 extruded aluminum bar stock. After two cnc machining operation with 11 tools, 76% of the original aluminum stock are removed. The clear cover and base are laser cut from .118" thick extruded acrylic. Four .25" long 18-8 stainless 4-40 round philip machine screws are included for securing clear top cover. Also included are two sets of 5/16" long 18-8 screws and associated nylon spacer with retain washer for securing the board using the mounting holes. Four additional through hole are drilled and chamfered at 100 degrees into the base of the enclosure.
